The vision, The faith and The courage

 to a Healthier world

         - five-year review of the journey of the ACMA

Five years ago, the vision of a healthier world with the merit of both Eastern and Western medicine propelled a group of physicians and scientists to found the ACMA. Ever since, this vision has enlightened the heart of many to join the organization, and owe to their faith and effort, the ACMA is becoming a key institute in promoting and facilitating Sino-US exchange in academic and clinical medicine.

In the past five years, the ACMA has established five chapters and recruited more than five hundred members. The ACMA has held twenty medical conferences, hosted the visits of ten Chinese medical delegations, organized two major delegations to China, and issued twenty-two publications. Meanwhile, the ACMA has established relationship with more than thirty Chinese and American medical institutes and societies for collaborations. Working with the Chinese Medical Association and the China Ministry of Health, the ACMA is initiating the practice of evidence-based medicine in China. Joining force with other healthcare partners, the ACMA is fighting against hepatitis B infection among Asian communities in the United States.

As we celebrate our achievements, we also remember all those struggles and growing pains along the way and we are grateful to the people whose faith and courage has made everything possible.  We will continue our effort and the long march has just begun.  We would like to invite all of you who share our dream and passion to join us.  We together can help build the bridge to a healthier world.(2001/5/20)
