ACMA and
BBB 2008 MIT Forum
On Feb.10, 2008, ACMA together with
BBB (Boston Biological and Biotechnological Club), held Biomedical Forum at MIT
to celebrate Chinese New Year, about 50 Medical Scientist, Principal
Investigators, Professors and Physicians from New England area, participated the
conference. The unique part of the conference is, every participant is only
allowed 5 minute slide presentation to introduce their own research work and
achievement, covered variety of research area including a lot of breakthrough
findings, involved cancer, cardiovascular diseases, Neurological and Psychiatric
disorders, Hepatitis, Diabetes and Lung disease, etc. Gastroenterologist
Dr.Jerry Zhu, addressed the major impact of Liver Cancer and Colon Cancer on
Asian Population, and introduced his own exciting research on cancer mechanism;
ACMA Scientific Director, Professor of Brandeis University, Dr.Ruibao Ren,
presented his successful work on Leukemia; ACMA Medical Director, Attending
physician, Clinical Instructor of Harvard Medical School, Dr.Xuejun Kong,
introduced her Autism Clinic, and advanced research and treatments; ACMA core
member, Professor of Boston University, Dr.Jinghua Yang, talked about his big
achievements on virus mRNA and its pharmacologic value; ACMA pioneer member,
Professor of
UMass,
emphasized his significant findings on Cervical cancer. More than 40 people
presented, the conference lasted the whole day with great success. Afterwards,
ACMA key members held working meeting, discussed future plan on Community health
education and Sino-American medical exchange program. Participants include Jerry
Zhu, Ruibao Ren, Xuejun Kong, Jinghua Yang, Jason Chen and ZhengKun Zhu.
